After missing his senior year due to a knee injury, the Detroit Lions made Scott, a Running Back out of the University of Southern California, their 8th round pick in the 1992 draft.   Scott spent the ’92 and ’93 seasons with the Patriots and the ’94 season with the Seahawks.  Lockwood finished his playing days in the NFL Europe with the Scottish Claymores in ’95.

While at USC Scott made quite a name for himself. He was named to the freshman All American Team in ’88,  All Pac 10 running back in ’88 and ’90, NSCA All American in’91 and was also invited to play in two college All Star bowl games.  Scott capped off his freshman campaign as the starting RB during the Rose Bowl against Michigan State.

Rodney Peete, a fellow teammate at USC tagged Scott with the nickname of “Gordie Lockbaum” for the former Holy Cross player who spent time on offense, defense, returned punts and kickoffs.   Scott said he was known for being a "white boy with speed": 40 yards in 4.29 seconds.  He says he still has it!

Scott lists Barry Sanders as the best player he ever played with while in Detroit and Junior Seau provided his toughest match up during practice everyday at USC.

Scott is now a partner of a real estate firm developing 6,000 acres into a Resort along the Sea of Cortez in Baja Mexico.  Check it out at www.legatobaja.com
